Dear Friend,
September 2, 2014
It’s easy to paint a thousand points of light with a thousand brushstrokes. It’s much more difficult – and infinitely more eloquent – to paint a thousand points of light with only one hundred strokes. (Mitchell Albala)
Last week, I started these pear paintings. They are a great warm-up in the studio. Trying to keep my colors simple and play with the light. Seems like an easy task, but it is harder than I thought! Plus, I’m timing myself on top of it to keep from getting too stuck on the image.
Back to school week seemed like a good time to start a new routine!
