Recently, I have been working on an exhibit for the “Pinkilish Confidence” Event with Friday’s Image coming up on October 23rd at the Cypress Club Downtown, Medicine Hat.
I focused in on social cause of cancer disease as like most people I know, it has effected both my sister-in-laws on both sides of the family; one of which is still doing treatment at the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Ward. So it was critical to determine a project whereby the money raised stayed to be used by the Ward in our community.
This project seemed to fit for me.
Cancer touches many lives, young, middle aged and older. It does not discriminate by colour, race or gender. Preparing for the art exhibit has been an interesting process. It’s not something devastatingly new in the world of art, but I hope one can walk away take away with an idea of beauty – female beauty being uninterrupted in the tidal wave of dis-ease and change.
Please share with your friends. Let’s sell out of the 150 tickets and pack the club. Proceeds from the event go to support the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Ward at the Medicine Hat Hospital.
