Dear Friends,
July 9, 2015

Its super “hot” in the studio. “Hot” meaning I blew the electrical breaker about an hour ago and have resorted to letting the hot air inside to fan air around.

Here’s today’s progress so far….

I like the bright bold colours and blobs of paint here and there; they make a nice mark and catch the light. I’ve added a few marks and square shapes to some of my new series on Trees. They are interesting in the fact that since I added them, I simply have no concept of what I can do with them. I obsessively paint them over and over again, making each mark and edge brighter and brighter.

“When end in doubt, make the painting brighter than you think” I heard this in a workshop one time and it keeps running in my mind, so you can see it’s reflected in my current work.

I do hope you have a great weekend and happy painting to whomever is crazy enough like me and painting in 30 degree plus weather!

“Our gifts are meant to help us prosper!” Quote from famous Spruce Grove Alberta artist, Owen Garrett

“All growth doesn’t take place in sunlight.
If you want me, you’d better hurry. Act now, supplies are limited. ” Jarod Kintz
