The Power of Art for Ordinary People

June 24, 2020
Esplanade Exhibit

Rapidly our world has changed. In fact, it has been in a spiralling crisis for the past few months with the new COVID virus.

As I’ve been preparing for the Esplanade exhibition at home, I was surprised at how many social media comments, feedback and thumbs up people provided on my painting progress in the studio. It seems that art has the power of  boosting spirits: a kind of colourful friend to ordinary people during this time.

And ……about boosting my own spirits, everything for the exhibit was great until I got to this little piece of artwork….what a  nightmare to finish. I’d paint a little bit, call my kids up to have a look and of course, they would have changes. I’d paint again, call my kids up and they would look at me like I had just lost every marble in my blond head!

I was finally able to finish it when I used two different types of green paint. Boy! You’d think I would realize how to make changes by now. I joked to my friend that I am going to sell it a mere $1000 because of the inch of paint on the surface.

Anyways, I hope you can make it down to see the exhibit…shoot my a text or an email and let me know your thoughts.
Thanks for your time,

Theresa Eisenbarth
