In 1905, Abraham Nobleman opened C. Hollinger Proprietor Home Goods Store. In 1914, it became Hollinger Agency Ltd. Real Estate and Financial Agents, Loans & Insurance Office. It also had a Furrier Store in the rear of the building.
Since 1923, it has had a legacy as a Ladies Wear Stores. Friday’s Image was started in 1978 and has been in operation for 37 years. Dianne Ziegenhagel has been operating the business since 1985.
It was a place I never went into when I was a teenager, most likely because I couldn’t afford the latest of underwear fashions! But, I often stopped by the front window to see what sort of interesting display Dianne contrived to show off the next best bra series and reminded me of the runways of Milan with the bare skinned mannequins. It was always tastefully designed with “pops” of colour for the chosen season of the year. One day, I thought, I’ll shop there.
