Kin Coulee Creek

Acrylic and mixed media on birch cradleboard

11 x 14″

I worked on this art-piece at a workshop in Whiterock, B.C. this summer. When I got home,
stared at it from across the room for about a month and then re-painted it. I believe the rst
painting attempt didn’t capture the lines and color of the water accurately. The water that I
wanted to capture is always moving, making sounds and creeping down the creek as you walk
the other way up the road.

I’ve watched the water, while listening to its soft sounds as it gushes over the rocks. I’ve
participated in stick throwing competitions, caught minnows with a net and chased my kids as
they ran to the park across the road. All this and more happened at this very beautiful spot in Kin
Coulee Park.
