Acrylic, mixed media and ink on birch cradleboard

36 x 24″

James and Robert Porter constructed the Porter Block in 1910.

The original tenants included Mr. G. W. Elliot with a luxurious jewelry store, a dentist, insurance offices and architect William T. Williams occupied the second floor. Mr. Williams designed many of the impressive buildings we still see downtown today, including the Imperial Bank Building and the Cypress Club.

When walking by, I often thought it a shame why the main floor was boarded up and not utilized like the buildings surrounding it.
