Dear Friends, March 6, 2018 Each year I choose a "Word to Accept". I've done this exercise since I started creating art over six years ago. Over these years, I have given a lot of thought to the choice of this short or long word. It seems like a simple thing....choose a word and get onto the next item on the agenda. But in actuality, it is like having a strategic plan; in art, in life, and in business. This one word encapsulates what I'm trying to achieve for a particular time frame....you could almost think of this word as a mantra. I start with five words.  I mull them over in my mind over a span of weeks and gradually discard the words that do not resonate with me and I finally select what I believe to be the right word for the present time. The word I choose this year is "CREATE".

Dear Friends, January 4, 2018 One of the things I find most interesting is to the experience of capturing a physical bricks and mortar building in a painting for a client. For this person has a story to tell. Each time he/she views the final painting, these memories associated with the bricks, pavement or landscape illicits this deep connection.

Dear Friends, August 10, 2017 This was our dog Alue. I didn't post anything about her passing in April as I was too upset and my thoughts hadn't set in about our loss. We put her down due to a mass of cancer in her stomach. For a beagle, this is a death sentence as ALL they want to do with their noses is sniff out the next morsel and look for food to eat.

Dear Friends, June 28, 2016 I have just recently announced my last private art show in Medicine Hat....in case you are wondering, it's October 12th at the historic Cypress Club building again. Please mark this on your calendar if you plan to attend this year.

Dear Friends, May 31,2017 Everyone is so crazy busy these days. I often think that technology is a hindrance, not a help and is making our lives frantic with all the pressures of posting on social media platforms. Although its a necessary part of the workplace, I find it ever more increasingly important to take time to do the things, hobbies and activities I actually LOVE.

Dear Friends, This is the time of year when you automatically start to reflect on the past year and plan for the new year. I can't complain about 2016 in terms of art growth. When I reflect on the events of the year, it amazes me how my "word of the year"  actually ends of matching my art-making process. If you recall, my word this year is "Expansion". I have expanded my reputation of being a Medicine Hat artist, but didn't achieve my goal of gallery representation or a public gallery show outside of Medicine Hat. So, guess what I'll be working on this year?

Dear Friends, May 19, 2016 This was my last commission project. It was for a front foyer of a renovated home in Medicine Hat and we had been going back and forth on deciding on a date for completion for many months. From my
