Theresa Eisenbarth is a unique visual storyteller.

Theresa provides commission artwork, painting urban and prairie landscapes throughout Alberta and Western Canada.

“Neighbourhood’s shape who we become, they shaped who I became. I want people to see the magic in their neighbourhood.”

Theresa’s artwork incorporates the sights, sounds, and aromas of today, mixed with a re-imagining of those impressions from the past. Her use of vibrant colours, and of non-traditional materials, brings an arresting quality to her paintings and aid in portraying the family homes, the businesses, and the strong, neighbourly ties of the Southern Albertan prairies.

“Vivid, bold colours inspire me and allow me to re-imagine these spaces. I entice my viewers to take a second look by embedding text, sometimes stories, keys, and door hardware to create substance and interest on the paint surface.”

As an artist, a westerner, a Canadian, and a woman, Theresa has stories to tell about our shared environment. She captures the things people walk by daily, without really taking the time to see, or look for the story behind the subject and commits those to canvas.

Theresa shares her love of art through teaching classes and workshops. She is currently preparing her first online course for beginners. She is also an active participant in the LevellingUp artistic community as a navigator for several of their master artists.

I’m super excited to share my artwork featuring everyday neighborhood landscapes for an afternoon at Framing and Art Centre, Downtown Medicine Hat.

If you have been following me for a short while, you’ll notice that my painting interest lies in painting urban and prairie landscapes throughout Western Canada.

These new artworks tell a story about places that connect us.

This NEW show includes works inspired by the neighborhoods, especially the historic neighborhood on the “SE Hill” in Medicine Hat.
