I am a unique
visual storyteller

I truly believe that art has the power to create connections between people and places.….

Many describe my work as "Impressionistic" in its portrayal of Canadian life.

As an artist, I am often categorized this way due to my bold use of intense colour and light. These colourful paintings aim to create a new perspective on our shared environment, inspiring art collectors to see these very familiar scenes in a new light.

As a professional artist hailing from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, I have devoted my career to capturing the essence and memories of small-town life on the prairies through my unique and impressionistic art. With a strong passion for conveying the beauty of Western Canada, I earned my B.F.A. in fine arts from the esteemed University of Calgary after studying Visual Communications at Medicine Hat College.

Following a brief hiatus to focus on family life, I re-established my artistic practice in 2012 and have since become an accomplished artist with an impressive portfolio of work. Living on the prairies has provided me with a unique perspective that is evident in my paintings, and my art has garnered much recognition in the Southern Alberta region and beyond.

Through my artwork, I aim to communicate the connections that bind us to the places we call home. My painting style is characterized by bright and lively colours, which allow me to bring my vision of the prairies to life and commit them to the canvas in a way that is uniquely my own. To hone my craft, I have studied under many master painters and have had the opportunity to showcase my work in numerous solo art and group shows.

With a production rate of over 80 pieces per year, I am dedicated to captivating audiences with the stories I tell through my art. My paintings evoke a sense of home and belonging, and I am passionate about creating works that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful to those who view them.

In my artwork, I certainly draw inspiration from the natural beauty of Canada's prairies. You can see this in my subject matter and the way I portray the family homes, businesses, and strong neighbourly ties of the prairies…..mixing the sights, sounds, and aromas of today with my impressions of the past.

I like to invite my viewers to take a second look and see the stories behind these subjects. Through a multitude of mark-making and the addition of door hardware and/or the use of keys embedded in my work, I aim to visually tell the story of the Western Canadian landscape.

I am proud to provide artwork for art collectors, businesses, and art galleries across Canada.
